Our services are designed to help students:
- Acquire the attitudes, knowledge, and skills that contribute to effective learning in school and across the life span;
- Complete school with academic preparation is essential in choosing from a wide range of options, including college;
- Understand the relationship of academics to the world of work, to life at home, and to life in the community;
- Acquire the skills to investigate the world of work in relation to knowledge of self and to make informed decisions;
- Employ strategies to achieve satisfying career goals;
- Understanding the relationship between personal qualities, education, training and the world of work;
- Acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and interpersonal skills to understand and respect self and others;
- Make decisions, set goals, and take the necessary action to achieve those goals;

Services

High School, College, Career and Financial Aid planning for grades 9, 10, 11, & 12;

Extensive resource and college catalog library opento all; individual and class use of licensed computer programs designed to gather skills, interests, and abilities and match these against a huge database of careers, college or tech school majors, post secondary schools, and available scholarships;

Administer the SAT, PSAT, and AP tests;

Assist with course selection and confer with principals who review add/drop requests. Ensure students are scheduled into required courses;

Monitor student progress;

Listen, guide, and encourage;

Liaison between students, teachers, and parents;

Coordinate the use of CASHS Summit Health Career Development Center and career reference materials. Students will have at least one class session during speech and/or English in the Career Center. Self-study for college/post-secondary education, career information, and on-line applications is permitted, with Counselor's approval, during Activities Period, study hall, lunch and before/after school;

Offer assistance to the public as a Pa CareerLink site.
