Mrs. McFadden
Hello! I'm Mrs. McFadden and I teach Health & PE at CASHS. I really like learning and knowing how our bodies move, and practicing how to keep them healthy. I went to West Chester University and participated in Track & Field (pole-vaulting) which is so much fun! I also played field hockey and swam while I was in high school. I’ve coached swimming and currently play in a volleyball league. I also have my Master’s Degree from Penn State University in Health Education.
I have 2 year old twins, Jude and Drew, they keep me very busy! But that’s ok because I LOVE being active. I spend a lot of my time outside; playing with my dog Bella, biking, hiking, kayaking, golfing, camping and swimming. I also like training for triathlons! If I’m not outside I don’t mind watching TV, I enjoy watching Friends on repeat, Parks and Rec, New Girl, and cooking shows. I also like watching sports, mostly football (GO STEELERS!) and hockey (PENS!) Funny movies are my favorite and I don’t really watch horror movies. I’ve watched Moana over 100 times this summer. I also love the Harry Potter series (both the books and movies). While I’m on the topic of media, my top three bands I’m listening to right now are Ingrid Michaelson, Of Monsters and Men, and Vampire Weekend. I like to sing in my car. I’m definitely a dog person, and not a huge fan of cats. My dog Bella is probably the best dog ever, she’s a hound dog that hardly barks and she cuddles and plays like it’s her job. I also like shopping; sneakers, shoes, dresses, outdoor gear, and fun jewelry. Sometimes if I have a bad day or a tough week, besides going outside, I like to shop and it seems to help a bit.
So more health stuff, I like to eat healthy as well and I enjoy finding and making new healthy meals (which means I’m may be a bit addicted to Pinterest). On the more unhealthy side, my favorite food is ice cream! And I’ll admit it; I sometimes eat just ice cream for dinner. I have a strong dislike for peas and meatloaf.
Something else you should know about me is that I am an awful speller! Feel free to help me out or correct me during class.
I value a lot of things in life and very much life itself. Be nice to yourself and your body and be nice to others. Why would you ever want to hurt either of them? I believe vulgarity is no substitute for wit and in class I don’t want perfection, I just want effort, and a willingness to try! I also believe in sunshine and crisp autumn days. I value relationships, and that you should surround yourself only with people who build you up. As your teacher, I’m here for you and want you to succeed. I want and will have a classroom with mutual respect.
