Teacher Bio
A little about Sra. Montha ---
I was born and raised here in Chambersburg.
I graduated from CASHS in 1987.
I attended Slippery Rock University and graduated in 1991 with two degrees - Elementary Education and Secondary Education - Spanish.
I have been to Spain two times to study. Once as an undergrad at SRU and once as a postgrad. I have been to many places in Spain except Barcelona - I hope to get there some day!
I also attended Millersville University to work on my Master's degree.
I taught one year at Wilson College (Spanish I and II).
I have been teaching in the CASD since 1992. Eighteen years at Faust Jr. High and ten years at CASHS. This is year 28 for me!
I attended the PA Governor's School for World Language at Villanova.
I have two wonderful children. (Alexis and Daveed). Lexi will be a freshman at Millersville University and Daveed recently graduated from Liberty University.
I have 2 cats (Cynder and Ash), a black lab (Raven), a Golden Retriever (Molly), three stink turtles, 4 painted turtles and several fish. Quite the collection of animals!
I love watching the birds in my backyard - there is quite a diversity (robins, doves, cardinals, blue jays, blackbirds, sparrows, finches, a red headed woodpecker, hummingbirds, ducks and so many more!)
My major flaw - technology! I am not a technology expert by any means! I like to teach old school - paper and pencil!
I love teaching Spanish. The language and the cultures fascinate me. I hope that you grow to love this language as much as I do. Feel free to contact me with any concerns, questions or problems!
Here are a few of my favorite things -
Fav Movie(s) - The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Fav Singer(s) - Josh Groban, David Archuletta, Bette Middler
Fav Food(s) - lasagne, fried chicken and dumplings (that my mom makes), chicken tamales and pizza
